Sunrise and sunset depend on latitude and longitude, not just on a city name, so TimeAbi calculates them from a bundled list of city coordinates. Pick the city you want — this is a calculation input, separate from the automatic location used for the home page, and no location permission is requested.
Times come from the standard NOAA solar equations, run entirely in your browser, and include the usual allowance for atmospheric refraction at the horizon. Expect them to be within a couple of minutes of published local times; local terrain, elevation and unusual weather are not modelled. Inside the polar circles the sun can stay up or down for the whole day, and TimeAbi says so instead of inventing a time.
